From the moment I called AKA Salon and spoke to Meghan, I knew I was in capable hands. I called in a bit of a panic, facing what I can only describe as a "hair emergency." Having visited from out of town, I made the unfortunate decision to try another salon, only to leave with a less-than-desirable outcome (understatement of the century). Meghan, without hesitation, requested photos and expertly paired me with the perfect stylist, Rene. Rene is a master hairstylist, colorist, and color-correction specialist. Despite his hectic schedule, he managed to squeeze me in and performed nothing short of a miracle. I am profoundly grateful to both Rene and Meghan for coming to my rescue. I cannot recommend Rene highly enough for his mastery of color, cuts, and style--this guy is the BEST. I plan to travel from Michigan back to AKA Salon just to have Rene cut and color my hair - consider me a client for life!

Went in for a few highlights and the stylist recommended a balayage. Spent 5 hours there just for the stylist to tell me to "come back next week so she could fix it", before I even saw my hair. Since the hair was so different from the inspiration photo, I came back the next week to hopefully get it fixed. I ended up with hair that looks just like my natural color. Thankful that she decided to fix it for free, but that should be expected. The stylist was nice but I was not impressed with the management. I've attached my before and after photos, along with my inspo photo from Pinterest. Contacted the manager to hopefully get a refund, as I am a college student who saved up for this. After going back and forth, I was finally reimbursed $50, which I do not believe was adequate compensation. Again, the stylist was very sweet. I was just not expecting to spend so much money on hair that doesn't look any different.

I love love LOVE Kelsey!!! She is the absolute best, she literally turns my hair into the prettiest blonde ever. Not only does she do fantastic work for lashes but the work she does for blondes is amazing. I've never seen my hair grow so much, I really do believe she turned my fried hair into healthy and long. 10/10 experience every time. I drive an hour and a half just for her.
