I decided to go to Aveda New Beginning Salon for hair services approximately two months ago.
I was happy with my stylist although prices can be very expensive. I paid $79 for a "haircut" and charged $25 for "extra time". My "haircut" was a 1/4 inch trim to get "rid of dead ends" no layers and literally added only 10 minutes to my scheduled appointment. My hair is medium length. I was informed of charge for " haircut/trim" but was NOT told of "extra time" charge until check out.
My question: If one were to have "haircut" I think that "time"would already have been included in the price. I have tried to reach out to the owner.
Literally the BEST facial I have ever had! Beth was amazing, the Aveda products are incredible and the staff was superfriendly. I will be back!!
I was incredibly pleased with my services here. The space is open, bright, warm, and inviting. All the stylists seemed friendly. I love my stylist Laura who I know is new to this salon, but she says she's really happy here, and the happiness of employees says a lot about a business! I will definitely be returning.

I went in for an eight week trim of my long layers and a color touch up.
I agreed with the stylist that the color was perfect; when it was washed out I was told that they "went two shades lighter" ... maybe it just was just under processed?
What should have been a tiny trim of long layers ended with blocky uneven layers starting three inches from my scalp! And four inches off my overall length. For reference, I had hair that reached to my bra line.
The short layers make it impossible to braid it or pull it back, something I reiterated as important for my job and lifestyle. My friends and family now joke about my "mullet", which to be honest is half mullet/half mushroom cut.
The whole experience was awful and when I reached out, I received a curt response that my next appointment would be cancelled. I would never expect a refund, but at least an offer to try to fix the terrible cut (blend the layers? fix the color? ANYTHING?!) would have been appreciated.
Honestly, I would stay far away. There are several stylists but it is really the lack of customer service or attention to client happiness that was the deal breaker for me.
