Disclaimer: I met Sophie through our kids' preschool. I've known her for 4-5 years before I became her client, but she gives all of her clients the same professional 5-star experience and service! My hair needs are relatively simple; I get a cut to shape my hair every few months, it grows out, I get another cut and reshape. I lost a lot of my hair due to trauma from spine surgery in January 2020. I also didn't know that the my head had been shaved in the back "just in case" they needed to perform surgery higher up my spine, so I was looking like the Crypt Keeper. It took 2 years for me to regrow most of my hair back, or at least make a decent ponytail to hide my hair loss. I was quite self-conscious about my hair loss, especially with my workplace reopening, people who had only seen the front of my hair on Zoom would finally see the back. I asked Sophie to help me. Sophie is a safe space. I felt comfortable enough to show her what meds and trauma had done. She asked me lots of questions. She explained what she saw, made sure we were both clear on my expectations. I also explained my daily styling and maintenance routine. I love the way my hair came out, especially with the blow out. It was like one of the few times during the pandemic and my recovery that I felt like my old self. I also brought my daughter for a trim. I noticed that her kitchen haircut from my mom was a bit crooked in the back, and mini-me had cut her own bangs on 2 different occasions. Sophie gave her a nice trim to even things out and blend the regrowth, and she braided her hair afterwards. i really admire Sophie's patience with mini-me, taking time to explain how she does her job. It's been a few months since our haircuts, and although they grew out a little, they still look great. Looking forward to our next appointment with Sophie!

I've always been kind of boring with my hair styles. I went for a trim with Sophie recently, and she was able to give me a refreshing new look which was still within my comfort zone. In other words, I feel kinda cute with my new hair! Her new place at Phenix in Mira Mesa also has such a classy vibe. I love her wall bubble aquarium!

I have been going to Sophie for many years (lost count) in La Jolla, changed my hair color twice. Always get great compliments after visiting her salon. She is an amazing colorist and hairstylist. I never stayed with a stylist for so long, Sophie is a true find. I live in La Jolla but I would not consider changing stylists, I drive to Mira Mesa to her new salon (which is super cute by the way.)

If you are searching for a new hair stylist, look no further. I've always had a hard time sticking with someone.. the first time is usually pretty good but all other visits never felt the same after. Because of that I was always on the hunt for someone I can stay with long term, which is the dream! Last year, I let my hair go... among other things :) I used box color (no hate, just never found one that was consistent), tied it back and didn't think about it until I couldn't take it anymore. Once they had relaxed restrictions a bit, I looked for a good and safe place to treat my hair to something special. Finding Sophie last year was a godsend. She had everything I needed in a stylist: - Stylist in single suite (safe :)) - Easy and comfortable to talk to - Easy to make appointments - Open and honest suggestions if I had no clue as to what I wanted - Consistent quality with every visit - Compliments from random people after every visit (it's true!) So if you are even on the fence about it, you should just do it and call her for an appointment. It may be the best decision you make this year :)
