Works of Art Hair Salon in Los Angeles, CA

If I could post "0" stars I would! This place is ridiculous. I had to get my hair done with roots plus highlight touch up in ash tone colors. Owner raved about how good he is in color so I counted on him to do it right. Due to my original stylist being out of town I needed to get my hair done asap. I spent 6 hours for a service I didnt need. Instead of getting the color I wanted my hair came out like carrot top with streaks!. The  price was insane, supposedly he had to do a color correct when I didnt need it, I specifically said roots and highlights due to my roots grown out. After my hair was washed out it was so late at night to see the true color, I asked if it would get brighter, he said yes. So unhappy about this service i had to get it color corrected by my original stylist once he came back. I spent $375 for the service and another $300 to get it corrected. I just filed to the BBB about this. I cant believe I had to cancel my appts all week and put my hair up because of the incorrect hair coloring.

Been going here for as long as I could remember since I was a kid. Everyone is wonderful, the vibe is uplifting, and the owner is really good at his craft. I would 100% recommended it to as many people as I could. It's on the second floor so it feels like your in a private area and specially treated. And if your feeling a little hungry before or after your appointment it's above an umami burger so there's food too. I saw that they have an all plant burger if you don't like meat.

Art (the hair technician, as in Works of Art), is literally phenomenal. I came in with a red one process and wanted to go blonde, and he managed to tone almost all the red out of my hair, adding highlights and low lights. The color is perfect. That is really not an easy thing to do!
Also: great pricing. A lot of places in Los Angeles charge out the wazoo, but this place is really reasonable, especially for the quality.
Please get your cuts and colors done here. 5/5 recommend!

I wish there were more stars I could give Works of Art. I called Art, the salon owner, after a really unfortunate incident that left me with a dense, unbrushable mat of hair at the nape of my neck. I don't believe another salon would have even attempted to work through it--as I have very long, fine hair and was unable to separate any part of the large knot on my own. Art meticulously picked through the mat of hair for me, until it was a soft, brushable strand. Not only did he patiently work through the task, but was a warm and friendly presence who wouldn't accept more than a tip for the service. 1000% will come back for my future salon services.

Art always does an amazing job. From curing me of cradle cap when I was 7 months old, to trimming and highlighting my hair now, I am always surprised at his talent and how great my hair looks walking out of the salon. I wouldn't recommend any place else!
