Hi, I called around New Brunswick, highland park, and Edison etc trying to find a place to get my hair Colored with highlights. I found this Salon in East Brunswick which prices/estimates were $100 less at least then all their competitors and just assumed the price was because it was claimed to be a family run business. When i arrived the guy who claimed to be in charge was cutting hair and asking me what i wanted color wise while paying no attention so I recommended we chat after he was done. We did but he kept his back turned from me and just seemed elsewhere. Overall just purposely Rude, Aggressive, unprofessional to say the least. I described what i wanted 3 times and when he repeated it back to me you could tell he wasn't listening because he described the opposite of what i was asking and was just going to do his own thing with out care. He also didn't know basic terminology like what coloring was or Shadow root is, genuinely I don't think he knows what he is doing aka doesn't have a license/went to school to learn. The price may be low but extreme red flag warning after going into, I wouldn't trust him with coloring or highlights if you value your hair. Very sus/slumlord Vibe. Also he wouldn't let any of the lady's working their talk to customers or do coloring without his approval/he gets first dibs just seem bad boss and greedy hustler personality very toxic! Trust me you all can do better then this place don't get tempted by the price and definitely not family owned vibe, wouldn't be surprised if guy in charge lied about family run, real talk. As a College Student and Hispanic Disabled Military Veteran I would not recommend this place to anyone, I don't know how their haircuts are but definitely don't trust them with Coloring, highlights etc! -my friends who advised me went to school to do what he pretends to do in salon and its an insult to those that spent time to learn instead of winging it with others hair smh . Ps: keep in mind i was disabled on crutches the whole time and his prices on his site compared to in store were extremely different 1st red flag
I went to get my hair chemically relaxed last year and my scalp was burned, I had bruises on my head AND my hair fell out in CLUMPS for the next 6 months. My hair started falling out on the first wash. I called and explained to the lady who worked on my hair about what happened but she claimed she used a mild relaxer and that it wasn't the cause. Mind you I have had my hair chemically relaxed in the past and this has never happened. I've been taking vitamins and trying not to put any stress on my hair since, however it's still very thin on the top and doesn't seem to be growing back. Nothing was offered when I called and no apologies. I won't ever be going back, they damaged my hair.
If you are a East Brunswick local or in central jersey and you need your color done- Wadie's is the spot! My family and I have been coming here for years! I wanted to get a nice icy look and my girl GiGi there knew exactly what to do! I am in love with my new hair style! 10/10!
This place is amazing I would highly recommend Wass. It is super convenient and cheap for anyone wanting a casual haircut. The best place I've ever been to and please don't listen to those 1 star Karan's they don't know what they are talking about. I have been going the past 3 years with no mess up.
