Tina's Hair Salon in New Milford, CT

Wow I hope that mean lady is not Tina (with short black hair and black eyeliner), if it is this place is not gonna be in business for long. We had a 9 o'clock appt and we were late with two very young children on a freezing morning. Still our fault for being not on time we walked in to the salon at 912 to be exact. The appts were for our kids and before we even sat down she gave us the dirtiest look and said I already booked someone for 945. That being said she was trying to cut both of our kids hair in 45 mins. So we still have 30 mins for at least one of our kids. But her nasty attitude and demeanor threw me off and she kept saying she can't cut anybody's hair in 30 mins. But she thought she could cut two kids hair in 45mins??? I don't get it. It's HER fault that she booked somebody at 945. She just doesn't want to take us at all. We told her it's 915 because our phone says it's 915 then she's like "no actually it's 920". Wtf is wrong with her???  I'll never go back here and won't recommend this place to anyone.

Great blow out, and great haircut. Tina does a wonderful job and I wish I could have her do my hair everyday; that would be wonderful! It isn't a big salon at all, but it's priced great and her expertise can't be beat. Highly recommend!

I've only had two experiences in Tina's Salon & both were absolutely horrible. The first experience I had with the owner was just to get my hair colored, I was completely ignored the entire time I sat in her chair & when I went to talk to her she was very short with me. Stylists kids ran a muck around the salon. Again just a few days ago for prom I went yet again to give it another go with my best friend. Over an HOUR we waited for our appointments that were booked the hour before. All we did was sit & wait patiently but when it got too late we decided we had to leave or we wouldn't have made our prom pictures & limo. As we leave she blames us publicly in front of her clients & coworkers for her bad decision in over booking & or for letting her coworkers over book us & asks us to pay 20% of something that was never done & was supposed to be done an hour before. We refused & she reluctantly let us leave. After we left my friend received messages from the owner via text messages telling her that she wasn't sorry about what happened and that we couldn't come back to the salon. She texted my friend bad mouthing us & called us "rude" & told her she "just didn't like us". To this day I don't know why she said these things or what we did to deserve that. Never in my life have I seen such a display of unprofessionalism. Another interesting question. How'd she get out personal info to text us. You do the math. Also, fellow classmates and friends who also got their hair and makeup done with the owner said they had a ridiculous wait time all day. Some also missing their prom photos. And told us the whole time the owner happily bad mouthed us. But they all thought it was funny cuz we weren't in the wrong. Even in the way she explained it to them.

Also the salon is far too small with little ventilation the smoke detector was going off every 5 minutes. I don't know how the fire department wasn't down there honestly! The stylists children, though this is I agree hard to control, ran around the salon uncontrolled. All around chaos. Will never return!
If ever in new Milford I highly recommend Joes Salon they're amazing people with an amazing Salon & are reasonably and fairly priced. They tried so hard to squeeze me & my friend in to get out hair & makeup done but were unsuccessful but that was okay since at least then we weren't just sitting around waiting for them. Also Sharones Hair Salon is god sent!
& finally, for all curious prom was not a mess my best friend and and wonderful mom did my hair & makeup. My friend and I happily took the owner up on her offer to not return ever again and will continue to do so.
