I found Blue via the StyleSeat app and was apprehensive at first to book because he was "new" to the app. I read his reviews and decided to go for it. I went for an Olaplex treatment, but what I got was so much more! I've been getting my hair done for about 14 years now, and no stylist had ever broken down the science of hair... no stylist had ever had me feel the texture of one strand of hair and explained why it was the way it was. Blue explained all of these things to me and made recommendations for repairing this damage. He was extremely personable, we had great conversation, the studio is comfortable and the entire session is personalized to your comfort, as it is a one on one experience. I can't wait to go back for a Balayage! Be sure to check out his Instagram, @thestylist to see his amazing work!
I spent $990 with Blue. For what I'm not sure because he has refused to give me my receipt with details of payment.... I came in wanting him to just touch up my hair, bring the blond higher and mixed in with my dark roots.. I told him I had sensitive scalp but he informed me the best way was to bleach the whole top of my head.. even tho I wanted the dark roots but I listen to him and let him do what he said he knew would be best after hours of being there he told me we would let my hair rest and to come back again while there I got products that he recommended for my blonde hair he had just done... Venmoed him 600 and he said he'd email me receipt ... next day I came in he didn't have the things we needed so he just chopped my hair off.. put it in three sections and just cut it off no layers or anything.. next day he brought a hair specialist and the both took a half of my head and started dying it .. both sides did not come out the same.. I had purple roots on one side and black on the other and not to mention the side he did he left dye on my scalp and face... 4th time I begged him to fix it and the only thing he said he could do was dye it a darker color... I wanted blonde.. and had to pic a dark color to cover his mistake.. I needed it fixed so I picked like a red color and boy he did cover his mess including my forehead and scalp... he had me go to the sink while he scrubbed my forehead for about 30mins trying to take off the dye leaving my forehead with little scabs and as beautiful as it came out (what I didn't want) it didn't last long cuz I had to keep washing my head to scrub off all the red dye left on my skin so while doing that I was washing off the color I paid good money for... when I told him I wasn't happy he said he'd give me 800 in credit and I told him it was 990 and to also send me a receipt.. he said I could get it next time I go in but I then told him I did not want to go back to him I'm sorry and if he can refund me something.. told me there r no refunds and that I can give the credit to a friend I told him I was not happy about it and I'll be expressing my unSatisfaction in Yelp which then he threatened to sue me for expressing my first amendment.. and then blocked me when I asked again for my receipt with details of what it is I paid for.. $990 is a lot of money and yet I don't know what it was I paid for. All in all a nightmare experience and a big hole in my pocket. I will also be writing a police report on the refusal of my detailed receipt
Blue was great! He helped me figure out a better regimen for my hair, while also giving me a lovely haircut! The place is a bit hard to find on google maps because it's actually in a plaza, but so worth it.
Blue was awesome! He took the time to walk me through how I could do a better job of taking care of my hair as I didn't even know I had fine hair! Be ready for one on one attention! He was great!
This one-on-one type of hair appointment made me feel heard and definitely cared for! Blue was honest and straight up, and only wants the best for your hair. He is super knowledgeable and, very evidently, an expert on what he does. He takes the time to explain everything he's doing and what would be best for your hair. I went into the salon with damaged and dry hair, and then left the salon with luscious, moisturized hair. If you want a QUALITY hair stylist, the Stylist is 100% the way to go.
There's no denying that balayage is having a moment. This modern hair coloring technique has taken the beauty world by storm, and it's easy to see why. Balayage is a French word meaning "to sweep" or "to paint", and that's exactly what the colorist does.
