Studio Mac in Windsor, CT

Cathy is the EXPERT when it comes to hair!  Absolutely cutting edge in every way.   I have searched long and hard to find a stylist like Cathy, and thank god I did! Every time I walk out of the salon I leave with amazing hair, that I exactly asked for. She is amazing.  She is the only person I let touch my hair. She is an amazing stylist and I highly recommend her! Book an apt with her or anyone of her amazing stylists, you won't regret it!

Sabrina saved my hair after another salon dyed it orange instead of a dark copper/auburn, covered it with a dark walnut, then did a bad cut.  (I found out from Sabrina that they had cut it to part on the wrong side. No wonder I haven't been able to make it work.)Can't do much about the color until my natural color grows out. Sabrina agreed. (The other salon said they would strip it and try to dye it the right color. Does this seem sensible?) I brought a photo and Sabrina and I worked together to get the cut right for me.   Now, I feel like the sassy me again.

I have been going to Katelyn for years and I am SO happy I found this salon because they are EXPERTS at making blondes look natural and dimensional, while being mindful that maintaining the health and integrity of the hair is important. I love my "girl time" at Studio Mac and chatting with the ladies - Katelyn and her mother Cathy are inspirational and run their business so professionally. I love the team dynamic experienced between everyone that works there - they are always willing to lend each other a hand or foil when needed (Thanks Sabrina and Rebecca!)
Katelyn did my hair and makeup for my wedding and her airbrush technique held up beautifully while still looking natural for my August wedding.
I've only had Katelyn and Cathy color and cut my hair, but would recommend any stylist in the salon - every customer walks out with a smile on their face and is glowing with confidence after a visit to Studio Mac!

I have been going to Cathy at Studio Mac for the past two years, after my old hair dresser at a different salon left the business to be a stay at home mom. Finding the right hair dresser is very difficult. I received many botched haircuts from high-end salons during my search for a new hair dresser, or met other hair dressers who acted like they were the authority on all things hair (and kind of talked down to their customers). Cathy, who has years of experience, was not like that at all. I found her through a recommendation. She offers great hair advice, provides great hairstyling and cuts, and has turned into a friend. From our conversations, I know that she and her daughter (who owns the studio with her) often go into NYC to continue their professional development. I'm really glad I found her. Even though it is a haul for me to drive to Windsor from where I live, it is so worth it! I would recommend Studio Mac to everyone!

P.S. Yelp just asked me when I finished typing this for my thoughts on price. I'd say they are right on par with other salons. I'm not talking Super Cuts or Cost Cutter prices...they definitely cost more than that, as they should. This is a professional salon, and you definitely get what you pay for with Cathy! She is fantastic!
