I have been seeing Stacy at the Spitfire Salon in Cool Springs for nearly five years! We alternate between full and partial foils with each appointment, which has given me the consistency and colour I desire. Stacy takes her time and is meticulously detailed throughout each service. I never feel rushed out, unless it's due to my own schedule! Stacy coaches and educates her assistants as part of her associate program; it's evident how passionate she is about hair care, colour, and products. I have gotten to know most of the stylists at Spitfire Salon the past five years while sitting in Stacy's chair. They are all wonderful, kind, and incredibly talented individuals! Stacy's team offers beverages and snacks during each appointment, and the music is always rocking! I highly recommend Stacy and her team at the Spitfire Salon for all your hair care needs!

Let's start with this: when I walked out after my appointment, I was thrilled and so happy with the result! Angie did an amazing job!

For the rest, start to finish...

Background: I had been with my last hair girl for about 2.5 years. Love her, but my last few appointments just wasn't super stoked with the results, so decided to try somewhere and someone, new. I must have searched online for weeks, researching salons near me, then narrowing it down to stylists whose work I liked and felt was a representation of something for me. Finally landed on Spitfire, and after another few days of searching all the stylists Insta pages, I decided Angie was my girl. I felt so happy in my choice and was pumped for my appointment.

Calling to make the appointment: no appointments around the time I wanted (weekend), which I was totally cool with. I ended up taking a PTO day just for this appointment, because I knew in my heart of hearts it was worth it and she would make me happier with my head. Appointment scheduled, and then I'm asked for a $100 deposit on the appointment. Not thrilled, but fine. I give my credit card information. The receptionist asks for the expiration date. I told her May of 20xx. She asks for the exact date. I again stated, May of 20xx, they don't give the date of the month on the card. She said (and I wish I were joking), "no, what number is May? I don't do well with that stuff." This absolutely should have been my warning to stay away, but it was a Monday morning I was calling so I chucked it up to that. "May is the 5th month of the year" I told her.

The appointment: got there at 1:45pm, my appointment was at 2pm. I beat the stylist there, no probs... I was early, after all. 2 other girls walk in after me for appointments. They are both asked if they want anything to drink, water, coffee, tea, wine. I was asked nothing. Angie arrives and I get in the chair. She's super sweet! Asks what I'm looking for today, as a first time appointment and we need to get to know one another. To start I gave her the backstory of not being super thrilled with my last girl and the reasons why. Then showed her a few pictures of the direction I wanted my hair to go. Her demeanor changes. She said she needed to think it through (as my hair was light and my old stylist took it dark and I wanted to be a little brighter again). Again, understandable and I'm glad she is being thoughtful as it's a head of hair, not makeup you can rinse off. She comes back about 5 minutes later with the owner of the salon and tells me she "doesn't think she can help me today." Now I'm alert. What? I took a PTO for this appointment, and all I want is my grey covered up and a few highlights so I'm not totally brunette. The owner continues and states that based on my attitude they do not believe I will walk out of the salon happy, so they can't help me. At this point, I get a little fiery, as I have been waiting for this hair appointment for 13 weeks and NEEDED to walk out feeling better about my head. Finally the owner asks to look at the pictures I am thinking I want. I show her. She said it was very doable and an ashy blonde that is not a problem. I'm a little nervous now as their attitude to essentially throw me out because I expressed what I was looking for (and what I was not looking for, based on last stylist). You have to tell new hair people everything as it is a trusting role. That said, I took the day and already paid the $100 so clearly staying. She does my hair, and rocks it! I cannot tell you how beyond thrilled I am with my hair. Seriously wow! The ashy highlights were perfectly blended, my grey was covered fabulously. She styled it exactly as I asked.

Leaving the appointment: after I paid and got in my car I realized they didn't ask me the one thing every salon in America asks after you pay - would you like to make your next appointment? So I gave a quick call back to schedule my next appointment as I was hoping to see Angie again. They answered, I explained I just left and didn't schedule my next appointment and would like to. I was told "Angie has nothing for what you'd like done." I never explained what I wanted done, which is important, as I don't get new color every time. I noted that and said I would be happy to come earlier or wait an extra few weeks. No breath on her end... "she has nothing for you."

Noted. The comical part of this review is they wanted to turn me away because I wasn't going to be happy with the result. I was thrilled with the result, but beyond un-thrilled with the customer service and kindness you get from most salons, especially when establishing a new relationship.

She did a fantastic job, but never would I ever recommend this place. I felt small, unwanted, and turned away.

Upon walking into this salon Trichelle was very helpful and accommodating.
Leilani helped me retone my hair and correct my bangs from a previous salon job that I had absolutely hated. She made my tones in my hair so much prettier and even looking. She was so sweet and kind. The vibes in the salon were upbeat and friendly and I will definitely be back ! Highly recommend !!! I'm a much happier 38 week pregnant lady after leaving this salon vs my previous salon. Thank goodness for stylist & staff that are such angels. Thanks again !
