SALT in Cheshire, CT

I put in a lot of time providing images and details of what I was looking for (face framing balayage). Instead, I got copper stripes and no face framing color. This was last year and I honestly don't remember who took care of me. I called a week later and they offered to correct it for free (I was not reimbursed). I appreciated the complementary service but I will not go back here again.

I drove 5 hours for an appointment with Lindsay and it was so worth it! I wanted to feel more blonde since it had been about 6 months since my last highlights, but other than that I was open to suggestions. Both the color and cut came out even better than I could have anticipated. I really appreciate her attention to detail, and the calm, relaxing atmosphere at Salt. Looking forward to my next visit :)

First off let me say that the salon is beautiful and the staff was great! But the actual coloring process was not at the level that I was expecting. Prior to going in they require a picture of your current hair and the hair color you aspiring to get. I love that because then your already getting an idea if it's a possible goal you can reach and they let you know whether they can achieve it. I went back and forth with Nicole she was absolutely lovely and always got back to me in a timely manner with any question I had loved that! So they said my goal was attainable and I proceeded to book the appointment with Christian. Fast forward finally came in for my appointment we sat down and discussed what I was going for and he was saying things like your hair is dark and I don't want to damage it which was completely understandable and I appreciate the honesty. But I told him let's just go for it and let's see what happens if I the client am willing to spend the money and take the risk then I feel as if it shouldn't be a problem also he was already trying to book my next appointment to get closer to the color I was attempting before even starting the current process. So what I booked was a full head of balayage. So as I see him do the process and mind you I've had this done before I noticed it wasn't a full head and asked him why it wasn't done like that and he was said I'm making it appear like a full head with the way I'm placing the product and also that he didn't have to the appropriate time to do my hair carved out in his schedule to do my hair. I found that a bit odd but said ok and was trying to trust in the process. After all was said and done my hair looked good not what I was fully expecting but not bad.
As I went to pay I noticed that they had charged me for the full head of balayage and I pointed out that was not what I had received he proceeded to say well we used the same amount of product. I'm sorry but if we didn't go for the full head then I believe I shouldn't have been charged for that and you should honestly let the client know prior. That just rubbed me the wrong way I felt like he didn't do what I asked from the beginning because they just wanted me to come back. It's just a bit pushy to try and get the customer to book an appointment without even starting the process in the first place. So long story short I wouldn't recommend the  salon.

Love, love, LOVE SALT Hair! On top of being such a cute and cozy salon, everyone at SALT is SO talented and leaves all of their clients looking fabulous. I have been seeing Cristal, SALT's resident brunette specialist, and she has done wonders for my hair. It is healthier, can now actually hold the elusive ashy brown/bronde color I love so much (those who have this color KNOW what I'm talking about) and she ALWAYS makes me look and feel like a million bucks during and after my visits. I mean, what more could I ask for? In addition, Cristal (as well as the rest of the SALT gang) is also very transparent about what to expect out of your visit (including costs) and will discuss your hair goals and what it will honestly take to achieve them. I cannot speak more highly about Cristal or SALT Hair. Check her/them out (just don't steal my salon time!)...you will NOT be disappointed!

I'll never go to another salon. Maranda has been my stylist for about a year and my hair has never looked better. She listens to exactly what I want, gives me tips and recommends products to make the color last and healthy in between appointments. You can tell she really cares about the craft. It's expensive but worth it!!
