Great haircut but very uncomfortable experience. Charlie cut my hair. First thing he asked is if I'm married, then if I'm looking for a boyfriend and if I've ever dated asians. This charade went on for a few minutes and made me want to leave. Sat in silence most of the appointment. The last thing he said was he was gonna take a picture of me for his contacts (said he does that with all clients) but wouldn't post it online as that's illegal and said "ok either smile sexy or cute." Definitely went with cute.
I received a perm from Charlie and was happy with the results. His method is definitely unique and it includes many idle moments where you just wait for whatever product he applied/washed your hair with to dry. To be honest, it was quite uncomfortable hanging my neck back in the sink for long durations without knowing when he'd return.. I mentioned that I wanted my hair very curly and he did just that. The hair loosens up quickly after 2 weeks, but after that the curls relatively remain the same. On the pricey side of perms considering that the price is set whether you have short or long hair, but its a good perm and lasted me a solid 2-2.5 months with good care.
Charlie is TERRIBLE!! He doesn't know what he is doing at all and completely ruined my friend's hair. Do not go to him. He bleached her whole head when all she wanted was subtle brown highlights. He was extremely rude and kept jerking her head around violently. He insisted she pay because he still gave service. A terrible hair stylist and person in general.
Great hair instinct and great listening: Got my second haircut from Queyenne (Queenie) a week ago, and I love it more every time I wake up and look in the mirror. My hair is thinning for medical reasons, and the long blunt cut I had wasn't flattering. She understood and advised on cut strategies, then gave me an easy to wear style that gave back the natural texture and fullness I was missing. She has done my waxing for a few years, but I didn't have my hair cut there because the salon isnt great looking. She has 2 for 2 great haircuts now at half the price I was paying before. Highly recommended!
I had a haircut appointment with Charlie this afternoon today. I had a request as to how I would like my hair to be cut (since I know what worked for me in the past) and as I was describing it to him, he cuts me off and says "he will do the stylizing" OK i thought, I'll give him a try. After sitting down and starting the cut, he asks who I had my haircut done in the past by, to which I said that it was by a Japanese lady. He then says "she is pretty bad at cutting hair.", and comments about how she messed up my hair. He then says that if you don't come back to my salon, the same bad haircut will happen again like before. He then proceeds to cut my hair, and was very forceful and rough in adjusting my head position to the position he wanted me to be in for the haircut. Also, I have to say I was not impressed by his cut. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't overwhelmed by it as well. I feel like if you want to bad mouth other people, you should back it up with your skills. At the same time, if you are in a field in which customer service matters, it might be a good idea to respect to your customers and not give them attitudes. Overall, I don't think I will return to this person for haircut because of poor attitude and disrespect to other people in the same field.
