Lily Nails (TJ Nails & Spa) in Gainesville, FL

Had an appointment but was kept waiting while there were a couple of techs sitting around doing nothing. The tech did a good job on my hands, but the pedicure was another story, and my toe chipped a few hours lately. The instruments don't appear to be sanitized, the tech had a bad cough and a bad attitude, they had a tiny puppy in the back that was yelping and crying the whole time, poor thing. The entire place could use a thorough scrubbing. Final nail in the coffin? My charge was $60, I gave a $10 tip for a total of $70, but my bank reported that the charge was actually $75. Ripping off their customers - guess they think people wouldn't notice.

Worst nail salon in Gainesville hands down. Got a very sloppy, rushed, uncomfortable gel manicure. The lady drilled off the previous gel so hard that I have bruising under my nails that has not gone away well after the gel polish came off. She also made me bleed from every cuticle. She painted over my skin and just left it there..except for one nail which she chose to cut the excess off causing me to bleed and also cutting most of the tip of my nail off in the process, leaving the nail completely misshapen. The skin around all of my nails was red/inflamed for days after. At least she ended with a 20 second shoulder massage to try to recover some of her tip money. That was terrible too.

Didn't look at review but wish I did prior to coming here. Needed a last minute pedicure. Basic Gel pedicure was $35. Nothing too fancy honestly my nail lady does an incredible job but she was booked so I had to resort to another salon, this one. Going in I was greeted and treated nicely. Once in the chair I noticed when she was removing my gel she used the machine but on my other feet she was trying to remove it forcefully with what looked like a scalpel. It felt like she was trying to shave off my material and I was so confused since it was obviously stuck to my nail. She kept scraping for some time and I wasn't in pain but was uncomfortable. I didn't say anything though I know I should've so that's on me. The lady that did my painting of the toes was gentle and they came out nice just not like is usually am used to . Also to note I am ticklish at times and nail ladies accommodate me but I felt like she kept joking around and tickling me extra just for kicks.The nail polish and the way they cut my nails looked like I had stubby nails and I was so confused how my nail shape was completely changed. Will try my best to stick to my OG nail lady. If in a rush I might stop in but not sure. If you're thinking of going here think twice and research any other places.

Great customer service and care with Mary. Highly recommend her. She's so sweet and nice and takes her time and makes sure you are comfortable and happy. It's a family owned business so they do bring their kids but I think it's nice and acceptable since they aren't loud and running around like crazy. I had a great experience and even though they do have low ratings they did upgrade the place during their mandated closure and it seems the attitudes have changed for the better. Really reasonable prices too!

I would give this place 3.5 starts. I was terrified to go because of such low ratings, but my nails were in such bad shape and I was in a hurry so I had to suck it up. Upon entering I was shown to this male's station. He was incredibly cold and rude. He did not look at me, did not speak, and did an absolute terrible job on the first part of my nails. I asked about cleaning the tools as I didn't see him get them out of the sanitizer and he got extremely upset. I then just asked the owner could she do my nails and she happily obliged. From there, my experience really went uphill. Kelley was kind, competent, and friendly. She ended up doing a really good job on my nails I think. Although I wouldn't mind going for a manicure (it was only $15), I don't think I'd let them do any acrylic nails.
