JK Tangles Hair Salon in Dover, DE

I just got my second cut at Tangles.  The first cut was done fairly well, but with me continually watching and directing.  This second cut I brought a picture to help me get the exact look I was looking for.  The stylist barely looked at the picture before starting to cut.  By the end, I looked like a drunk Marine with the sides high and tight and the top sticking out and all over the place.  I'm a senior with naturally curly, silver hair.  I've always worn my hair very short, but feminine.  This cut is terrible!  It cost $47 and a tip.  I've had better haircuts from stylists still in training.  If you like your cuts with something current ,edgy and complimentary, I have two words of advice ... STAY AWAY!!!  Now I have to find a REAL, skilled stylist and see if they can do something to correct the damage that was done today.  Mo money, mo money!!!!!

I went there and called ahead and was able to get appt same day. Jesse cut my hair and did a great job on my hair.  I loved my hair and the money spent was worth  having a good haircut!  I wore a mask during my haircut .  There wasn't anyone there during my appt except me. I loved it!

Hello All, If you are from out of state visiting, and care about customer service do NOT go here..even if your desperate for an appointment. I made an appointment same day for 6:30 in the evening. I showed up at 6:28pm. No one was at the front counter but the place is small so all of the employees could see me. They were small talking amongst themselves, looked right at me, and did not greet me. After a few minutes of waiting around, I left. They had the NERVE to call me after saying I missed my appointment. Foolish for being one of the VERY few hair salons in Dover. This would never happen in New England, and New Englanders are actually known for not being friendly. Unreal! Side note, it was a bleach job, cut, and Olaplex treatment, so we are not talking pennies here. They lost out on a job simply for being rude.

A little disappointed on my first visit. Hannah who is behind the desk and also washed my hair could hardly even greet me. Then she walked me back into a big area, but no one else was there (first clue) then proceeded to wash my hair but not manage to say more then three words.  So I gave up on the whole getting to know you thing. Then I was brought to Jesse's chair- and the floor was covered in someone else's hair. ( second clue)  now and waited for maybe 5 mins, remember no one else was there and finally some guy shows up. No introduction. No hi I am Jesse. Remember it's my first time.  So we chat about my hair for a few minutes and he really pulled my hair, apologized(good) and then did manage to cut my hair fairly well. Except for the fact when I got
Home I had to fix several missed spots.  I have straight hair very thin shoulder length and really not hard at all to cut. All for $45. So I am not impressed. A little more cleanliness and some personality would have made all the difference- oh yeah and double check your work !

I've gone to JK Tangles twice. Both times the stylists were over 30 min behind and I had to wait about 30-45 min to be seen. When going to my third appointment, the hostess with glasses and curly hair lacked customer service. She responded with one word answers (such as do y'all have a bathroom I could use....I had to prompt her with every question with a follow up) and more often than not just stared at me when I said something to her. There was some confusion on my appointment, which isn't an issue. It wasn't emergent that I had to get my hair done. When Jesse came to talk to me about it, it was similar. He would just stare at me when I would ask a question or say something, and then when I was looking for the confirmation stood uncomfortably close, just staring as I searched my phone. It wasn't like this the other times I went to this salon, but I'll be sure to not go again. For those where customer service is a dealbreaker, pass on JK Tangles; the price isn't worth the experience.
