ISLAND NAILS in Stevensville, MD

This nail solan is very unprofessional!! I made an appointment for my sister, mom, and I to get pedicures and manicures a week in advance. When we got there for our appointment nobody greeted us at the door. Then they asked what are getting done I explained we made an appointment and the man told me he didn't have time to do everything. I specifically asked him on the phone when making the appointment if everything could be done and he agreed yes. So when we get there and all of sudden he can't I was frustrated. Mind you nobody was in there but the employees and my sister, mom, and I. If you're looking for good service do NOT go here. Terrible, unprofessional, and rude.

If you're looking for a good nail salon in KI, look no further. Island Nails does a great job, and the staff are very kind and do everything to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The only negative is that although they say they take walk ins, I've seen walk ins turned away quite a few times when they've come in. It isn't a huge salon, so I'm sure they do their best to accommodate but are limited by available mani/pedicurists. So my best recommendation is to call a few days ahead if you're thinking you'll need care before the weekend/during the weekend. I've been taken care of by various techs and have nothing but compliments for all of them. I don't feel rushed, they always offer me a beverage, they take care and time to help me choose my color or switch from massage chair to mani seat, and they have a great attention to detail. Can't wait to get pampered soon!

Pros and cons with images below. Positive: Appeared clean. Came highly recommended so I would suggest worth a try. One technician tried to do two manicures at the same time-in attempt to keep appt. I had appt, but was 5 min late. Negative Put on a "gel polish" over the dip (maybe to correct color?? than correcting the problem.) translation not available when I pointed to nail color board. Missing manicure-provided a color removal and application of dip, but no "manicure." Charged for manicure. Technician was not able to communicate when I was trying to explain wrong color was being used-used color from previous customer. No translation available by other staff member.

In not sure what is the real hype with this nail salon but my experiences are not great!
