Havana Fran's Barber Shop in Hebron, CT

Walking in as a first time customer, there was only one stylist on duty. There was no "lobby" or seating area where you were directed to go. I stood there for 15 minutes, unacknowledged, and had no idea there was a white board where you sign your name in. Two other people came in AFTER me and apparently signed in. As a new customer, the stylist should have greeted me and told me what to do. I went to the barber in the Ted's parkade "Persnipity" and they were more than accommodating. So unprofessional, keep enough staff on or have a front desk attendant.

I've been on quiet the journey to find a place to get my hair cut.  I'm not sure why I never tried a local place where I live before but I think this will be my go to from now on.  Me and my 2 year old son got our hair cut here for the first time.  The wait was not bad. The place is small but it's Hebron so it doesn't need to be expansive. The price was good.  The cuts were good.

One of my favorite books is called the e-myth revisited by Michael gerber. He writes about how small businesses need to be consistent in their approach and execution.  He describes a time when he got his hair cut by a barber and everything was great the first time then the next time it wasn't quite as good. And eventually his experience turns poor.  And he fails to go back. I didn't realize until now how much of an impact that book had on me.  

Today I got my 2nd cut and it was just as good as the first time. I can firmly say I'm done with the large chain chop shops and will only go here.

So I just moved into town from Phoenix. While living there it took me ages to find a good barber. When I finally found one, I never went anywhere else.

Obviously, I couldn't take her with me to CT and I was going to need to find another barber. I wasn't looking forward to the process of trying out a bunch of different barbers again - that experience was a nightmare (No man asks for a Dorothy Hamill cut damnit!). But ready or not I was going to have to put myself back out there.

Today I found Havana Fran's by luck - I needed to go to the ACE next door - and they were able to squeeze me in close to closing time. The shop itself is a cute little space that the crew clearly care for. The service was absolutely wonderful and my barber was a great conversationalist who balances talking about dogs with quick questions about stylistic preferences.

Overall atmosphere, haircut quality, and enjoyment is easily 10/10 and I have found my new barber!

My husband loved his haircut..the hot cream razor cut. Husband said he will definitely go back plus they open at 7 a.m.  Thank you, now my husband has found a real barber and I like my new man too.
