Hair Gallery at the Mill in Tariffville, CT

First, let me start by saying that this is a fantastic salon that's super clean and very, very classy! My fiancé had to come here today as she got her hair colored and cut yesterday at Fringe in West Hartford and they did an awful job! Her hair was cut uneven, etc and it became a total nightmare. Fast forward to today and Hair Gallery was able to correct the previous cut and give my fiancé the cut she wanted and should've gotten yesterday. The stylists here are extremely knowledgeable, super efficient and very nice. Everything and more that you'd expect from an upscale salon! This will now be her go to salon for eveything. By the way, the stylists name was Heather and
she did an absolutely fantastic job! I'd also like to mention Sarah at the front desk who was also extremely nice and super accommodating for this nightmare. Thank you all!

I love this place. The owners care so much about their business and clients. I've been seeing Amy Marie for a couple years now and my hair has never looked better. She's a master with color! I always feel like I'm being treated to more than a just a cut and color. From heated towels to head massages at the sink, it's an absolute treat.

I've been here a couple times in the last 9-months and have had great experiences with both Taneka and Amy T. Both times for a cut, both cuts were great! Taneka was meticulous. When I saw Amy T yesterday I also got a gloss. The shade is exactly what I wanted. It was looking brassy, just a bad yellowish shade of blonde. I told her what I wanted and she listened and delivered!

Mama time turned into nightmare.

I will never be coming to this salon again. I booked appointment over a month in advance for balayage and a trim. Two hours before my appointment I received a voicemail and a text message stating that the stylist I was booked for now works somewhere else and to call back if I would like to reschedule with someone else. I called the salon and explained what an inconvenience this was for me, as I took the day off from work and hired a baby sitter specifically for this appointment.  They offered to remedy the situation by booking me with a high level stylist even honored the price I was suppose to pay with the other stylist. Great!  I was very happy and felt they were very accommodating.  When I arrived at the salon, the stylist quickly introduced herself and rushed me to her chair. She came off rather cold, speaking very seldom to me prior to starting. It was clear that she was upset with the fact that they booked with with her. That's fine, I really don't need to talk during appointments, BUT what was not okay was that the whole appointment I could literally feel her taking out her frustrations on me. With every comb she ripped the brush through my hair and forcefully slapped on the foil against my head. I mentioned a couple of times that it was hurting, but she really did not lighten up. I sat there so incredibly upset I started to tear up. Being a working mom, I rarely get to treat myself to getting my hair done, so I was really looking forward to this. Now I felt as though I was being punished for something that wasn't even my fault. As a nurse there are plenty of times I get frustrated and angry at work but I would never take it out on a patient.
Near the end the manger came to apologize for the inconvenience and handed me a bag of what I'm sure is free samples the salon receives. I left the salon in tears and my head throbbing from being ripped. I do not recommend this salon at all as this is now my third bad experience with them and this last time was absolutely awful.

If I could give zero star I would. I am new to CT and moved here from Utah.
I found out about about this location because a coworker goes to Amy and loves her work. So I made an appointment for my balayage (with Amy)and my wedding hairstylist. I told them over the phone that my wedding is in October (this was 2 months ago)
Well when I finally went in and my color stylist wasn't Amy but the girl was super passionate and honest so I was excited. They told me they don't travel for the wedding (so over the phone they lied) but yet I didn't care because I needed my hair colored before my photo shoot.
I told them I am going away for Labor Day weekend (for my engagement photo shoot) and I would like my hair done before. Got an appointment for Thursday before Labor Day! I even worked half a day for this appointment.
Well on Wednesday Before the Labor Day weekend I called and they said they don't have any appointments for me. They messed up again!! I requested to speak with a manger since the girl over the phone seemed like she didn't know much.
The manager was sweet and offered me to come in for a $30 hair blowout. And I politely denied. Because I needed my hair colored. Its been 9 months!! She made my appointment for the end of September even texted me the date.
So I called to confirm again and the manger said "we don't think we can meet your expectations especially before your wedding" I said "mama I have no expectations other than look a little decent. I have worked with patients during this pandemic and for my wedding I want to feel like a woman." She cried and said I was getting too personal.‍WHATTTTTT!!!!!
Now 2 weeks out. I have NO ONE to go to for my hair that's well reputable. They are all booked out until end of October. I couldn't believe they dropped my appointment AGAIN with such a short notice and a wedding approaching.
They are extremely unprofessional and lack passion. It's all about money and the don't care if you have a wedding. I WOULD NOT trust them if I were to be you. I have heard they are under a new management. It's a shame but I am glad I had this experience. I don't want that energy to come near me.
