I've been coming here for years. I used to live in a Scripps Ranch and now come to visit my mom. When I am in need of a haircut I combine the two because, despite living elsewhere in the city, the value and service for a men's haircut here is hard to beat. I have never had a bad haircut here, and always enjoy my little chats during my visits.

Great neighborhood place for men's haircuts. Reasonably priced. A bonus - Ellen is very fast. A haircut used to take at least an hour out of my day, including commute. Now it takes a pleasant 20 minutes - including commute. If you're into sharing, my wife occasionally joins me and has a pedicure while I get my haircut.
I came here for the first time to have my nails done. It was an interesting experience. I couldn't understand the owner's explanation of gel vs. acrylic nails or nail polish and eventually went along with gels since she said it was better, but I know I missed a lot of the details. The two women in the shop spoke to each other in their own language the majority of the time and it was obvious they weren't agreeing on some of the procedures. I made a joke about how it wasn't fair that they kept speaking a different language in front of me when they knew I didn't understand, they paused for a second and then just kept going. I think the manager didn't understand me either. The nails are ok. All the edges are flat instead of rounded and there are some dimples in the polish after a few days. I have no idea how to remove the polish as they said something about taking it off in 2 weeks but no appointment was made and would that mean I would have to keep going back every two weeks? Kim was nice and I felt a bit sorry for her as the owner seemed to be critical of her. I;m not sure I will return.
