This is place is probably great for people with fine straight hair. I don't think the stylist knows how to care for thick wavy hair. He made layers that were too close together that made it fluff out at the bottom rather than thinning it. I asked for a blow dry with a diffuser - which is needed for curly hair - and he took out a curling iron to "make it smooth". He said it was "just my hair" that it's thick. I told him several times I did not want a curling iron on my hair and ultimately asked him to stop so I could leave and get it fixed elsewhere.

I had a great color and haircut experience with Calvin. I called him a day before and he immediately accommodated me and even agreed to an early morning appointment at 8:30 am. Calvin is a good listener. I came in not knowing whether I need balayage or just highlights. After discussing with Calvin that I just want subtle color and layers to my hair, he recommended highlights and NO need for bleaching which my hair appreciates. So far, I like it and I enjoy styling my own hair at home! Thanks Calvin! My whole hair service just took about 1.5 hrs. Street parking was available on weekday mornings. Very affordable price. My whole service was less than $200.

I asked for a 2 1/2 inch haircut. He started cutting my hair while it was parted on the side, so I asked if he would part it down the middle. He said "no, no. Don't worry. It will be even all over when I'm done." When he finished, and I had layers and framing around my face! When I told him that I didn't want framing in layers, he said "but this looks so much better." I said, I didn't ask for that!" Only then did he apologize.
