Colleen's Hair Design in Southbury, CT

This place is special! I had just moved back to my hometown of Southbury after 16 years and was in desperate need of a hairstylist. Yet, not just any hairstylist. I was in the end stages of telogen effluvium at the time, which is a scalp condition where your hair falls out. Mine was due to extreme emotional and physiological stress.
 Colleen answered the phone when I called and from that moment on pampered me. I had lost a good 2/3 of what was a nice thick head of hair. Thankfully, I still had some left to work with. I decided to cut it all of and Colleen shaped it into a gorgeous tousled lob and created a beautiful copper color. I was given the 5 star treatment the whole time while having great conversation. I will be back and I will be referring those I know. Thanks Colleen!

My family just moved to the area this summer. My daughter and I desperately needed haircuts and had to pick a place blind. We couldn't be happier to have chosen Sylvia's! Our stylist Jeannine took so much care with my daughter and I to ensure we got the haircuts we wanted. One of the most thorough hair dressers we had both ever seen, she did a wonderful job with both of us!! We love our new cuts and will be certain to return to the salon again! Definitely worth stopping in!

I found this salon through a friend ( found out later several people I know also go here) after disappointing hair appt at the salon I usually go to. I got an appt right away with Danielle. She was amazing! She helped me "fix" what I didn't like and went above and beyond making sure I was happy! She took time to talk to me about my likes and dislikes, was patient. Customer Service here was over the top! I felt so taken care of!! Bravo for a job well done! Very happy Customer

I started coming to Sylvia's two years ago after a recommendation from a friend. I am VERY PICKY when it comes to my hair. It's short and takes a skilled stylist. I had been following the same stylist around CT for 10 years but she was going out on maternity leave, so I had to find someone for a couple months. Well..... I struck GOLD in coming to Sylvia's and my 2 month "interim" salon has become more permanent. Here's what you should know:  in 2 years I've never had a bad cut. I even bring both my kids.  The stylists and owner are just kind, community-minded people who put customer service at their forefront. The employee retention is a direct reflection of how well this salon is managed.  I highly recommend it.

So I had written a previous review about the not so pleasant experience my daughter had a few months back. Well the owner contacted us an was very apologetic about our experience and sent my daughter a note along with a gift certificate.
My daughter recently got her hair done before heading back to school and she was over the moon with the quality service she received from her stylist Jessica who went above and beyond.  She made explained very thoroughly what her hair needed and did all the necessary treatments before adding color.
When my daughter went to pay for the additional treatments because her complimentary gift card only stated color, the team refused her payment and wished her well on her upcoming semester.
Needless to say she will be returning and it's refreshing when a business values their clients.  
The proprietor of the business shows exemplary customer service and five stars are just not enough for her
