City's Best Barber Shop in Wrightstown, NJ

Durango has awesome customer service and is a master at his craft. I just moved here last month, so I been needing a barber to go to bad. So, I was very pleased that not only his shop was right across the street from the base and that it's a veteran black-owned business. This barbershop has no sense of business. I was a consistent and TIPPING customer for a year, and the only consistently good barber is Durango (the owner), out of 6 total barbers. The line for Durango is always very long, but recently there started taking appointments. My first appointment with Durango- he was 45 min late. Every other appointment I've had with him he's been late as well. Yesterday was the final straw. I made an appointment at 12:30pm. I arrived a few min early. He was still cutting someone's hair and finished at 12:38. This wasn't a big deal even though he was late for my appointment as usual. This issue was the he then told me that I had to wait for another person to get a cut because he's been waiting. I told him that I couldn't wait anymore because I made the appointment on my lunch break and had to go back to work. He told the other guy to sit down in the barber chair, and asked me what I wanted to do. I told him I would have to leave and he scribbled my name out. Durango and this shop as a whole are unprofessional, and a bad example of black owned business. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Hairline pushed way back. Now i might have to go bald if my hairline doesn't regrow back after a month. Never again am i getting my haircut off base again. Unless I'm back home in New York.

Durango runs a great barber shop. He is a master barber and it definitely shows in his work. FWIW, I am Filipino and Asian hair can be a challenge to fade. Nitisha, my barber, was meticulous and pretty close to being a perfectionist. She did have some challenges with the way my hair changes direction, but she was not above asking Durango for some help. Durango made the situation a teachable moment. This shows humility and attention to detail. I left the shop with a great fade and an incredible amount of respect for both of these professionals. I don't hesitate with my recommendations for this shop. I'll see you all the next time I'm in the area.
