Cactus Salon Day Spa in Manorville, NY

I just moved East from Western Suffolk and was in need of a haircut. My hair is long, straight & fine. I always went to the CS in Huntington. When I'm in an unfamiliar area I'll use Groupons to check out a place prior to deciding if I will become a lifer. What I don't understand is why some of the stylists feel that accepting a Groupon is beneath them. The point for me is they should give the grouponer an experienced girl, not the newbie. If I get a great cut I'm your customer for life, if I get a girl who is not confident and keeps asking me "is this okay" and barely trimmed my hair as she was so afraid to cut my hair. I came prepared with photos I wanted as a guide for her. I'm not looking for a precision style but a few layers to give me some lift. I always leave a big tip as I know I'm paying a bargain price. Girls...rethink your business...do you want a customer for life or someone who will never enter the establishment again? Do yourself a favor and don't look down your nose at a Groupon..it could be someone new to the area looking to establish where to take their business. I was not happy and will now continue my search for a hair salon with stylists who don't have their nose up in the air.

I walked in spur-of-the- moment and asked if it was possible to get a blowout. that seemed to confuse them, and they called the "receptionist ", who gave me the price and said they could do it now. ok. The lady who did my hair was really nice, and I would love to see her again. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name, and when I went back to tip her she was gone so I had to leave a tip with someone else. When I went to pay, I waited for quite a while, and then the receptionist lectured me on my attitude and that I had apparently had an attitude since I walked in the door. I have no idea what she's even talking about. I had been so happy that they had to fit me in. Because of the way the receptionist treated me, I will never go back. It's a shame, because the lady who did my hair was great.

Stay away from Elaine at this salon. She ruined my daughter's bangs by cutting them when they were wet. I found out later on that you should never cut bangs when they are wet as they will come out much shorter. Any hairstylist should know this but especially a hairstylist at a "high-end" salon like this yet she is somehow employed at this Cactus salon. I see there are mixed reviews at this place. It seems to be hit or miss with the hairstylist/staff you get at a given time. I wish I read the reviews before bringing her as it is not a cheap place and it should not solely be luck or by chance that you leave here happy. Do yourself a favor and don't risk having a bad experience. Just go elsewhere.

Sometimes Groupons are good and then sometimes they end up like this.......... I have an appointment with another hair salon tomorrow to fix this... definitely wouldn't return in the future!

Worst salon ever very rude staff and unprofessional messed my hair up and didn't fix it and charged me double never go to this salon very dirty place
