2 perfect blowouts for 2 photoshoots that I had! My hair kept its volume and bounce the entire time. I always said my hair doesn't hold a curl but Racquel proved me wrong. SO IMPRESSED. 10 stars if I could give that many!

I moved to AC and not knowing any hair places to get my hair done. So I took a drive one day and looked at all the salons on my way and Avant Girl stood out to me immediately! I went in and I spoke to the receptionist and I set up an appointment immediately for the following week with Kathleen for a root touch up and just wash and go because I don't usually blow dry my hair anyway . Kathleen is a terrific salon expect she is very personable and we chatted and laughed. I have been continually getting my hair colored by Kathleen now since moving here . She has done foils with exact expertise not missing a hair where needed. The whole staff is friendly and kind . They are a full service salon.

First time appointment for a gel manicure. Raquel did an awesome job! Very clean and beautiful salon. Very professional! This will be my new favorite shore place to go!

I couldn't be more dissatisfied leaving this place. 1 month ago I made an appointment for a women's cut (trim and thinning) and blowout. I got there 10 minutes early, and sat in there for over 2 hours. Raquel washed my hair, Terri began to brush and trim my hair, and said that she would thin it out when it was dry. Her next client came in while she was blowing my hair out, she cut, styled, and blew her hair out all while I sat there with a wet head. Eventually Raquel came back to continue blowing my hair out. Once Terri was done with her other client, she came back to continue blowing me out. Then her next client came in and they discussed what Terri would be doing with their hair while still doing mine. She never thinned my hair out and insisted that I didn't need it. I was extremely disappointed leaving the salon and refrained from complaining. So today, 4 weeks later, I needed my hair cut AGAIN because Terri didn't do what I asked her to do the first time. I asked for the same thing, a women's cut (trim and thinning) and a blow out. I had Diane who saw that I have very long hair, and said "you didn't tell them you have very long hair did you." No, I didn't, because I was just there 4 weeks ago. She proceeded to tug on my scalp so hard that my scalp is currently burning (this happened with Terri and Raquel, too). She muttered "oh my god, her hair is so dry and dead I can't even get through it" and even had somebody else come brush the other side of my hair while she was panting brushing out the other side.... She gave me a fine haircut, but didn't thin it out (for the second time) and I left with some of my hair STILL WET. Wow, I'm so disappointed and can't believe I paid for this TWICE. I'll never return and will be warning all of my friends at the Jersey Shore not to spend their money here.

I called almost a week in advance while on my family vacation for a deva cut. I was told they had no availability until I was gone (I prefer to support local businesses). They called me back and said they had availability Sunday (smack in the middle of a gorgeous family beach day) so I stayed behind and missed the beach day. The google address took me to the wrong location so I called and was told to still come and they would wait for me. I arrived 10 minutes later and was turned away because the "next client was already coming". You close at 4pm and I got there at 3:39. Nice try, Karen. You wasted my vacation time, my gas and my patience. I bet if I walked up with my Gucci bag like the woman walking out as I walked up, you wouldn't have flinched. Sorely disappointed. I was prepared to pay top dollar, not worth it.
