Abraxas of Huntington in Huntington, NY

A giant toilet flush of close to $400. I went in for touch up, highlights and trim. Asked to blend in the highlights with my brown hair. She made my hair blonde! When I said it was too light, she put in a toner that was mousy brown and washes out. My hair looks awful and now I get to pay another salon to fix it. I would NEVER go back.

Absolutely disgusted with my experience at this salon. I purchased a groupon for a wash, cut, glaze and blowout. I called and explain that I had just purchased the groupon, even asked the woman to hold so I could bring up the groupon to read her exactly what it was for, and asked if they had an appt for the next day and was told to come in at noon. I show up the next day at noon and check in-I again mentioned the groupon and was told that I was scheduled with someone who didn't take groupon. The woman at the front desk went to speak with a few people in the salon to try to rectify the issue and asked me to come back at 6:15pm-unacceptable as it is, but I let it go. I scheduled my day around this so coming back so many hours later wasn't possible. She explained that the woman I was scheduled with wouldn't have enough time to put the glaze in my hair, so I forfeited the glaze even though I paid for it. The haircut I got was great; Karen was very detailed oriented and made sure I was happy every step of the way. But when I went up to the desk to redeem the groupon, the manager told me that there was an issue because I had my hair cut by someone who didn't accept groupons. I explained what occurred when I first got there and the woman saying it was okay bc it was their mistake, as well as my phone call the day before, and the manager proceeded to tell me that I was wrong because if I mentioned the groupon on the phone I would have been scheduled with the right person. I am 110% sure I mentioned it more than once on the phone-but she proceeded to argue with me and told me I "should have been turned away." Her attitude was completely unacceptable, especially to scold me in front of other customers for a mistake that her staff made, and AFTER it had already been discussed and rectified. The manager was completely unprofessional and bitter that I used a groupon. I will not be stepping foot in that salon ever again.

Everyone at Abraxas is extremely kind. They give great haircuts and specialized treatment each time you come in. I always feel fabulous when I come to Abraxas

I needed a last minute prom updo, and the ladies at Abraxas were so helpful, accommodating me right away, even though I'm sure they were busy! Diane did an amazing job on my hair, which doesn't usually curl easily, and the updo stayed in place all night, even after hours of dancing. They did a great job!

A lovely salon! Diane, the owner is very experienced and sets a "good vibe" atmosphere. You feel it right away the minute you walk through the door. The staff are professional and very attentive with their clients. Refreshing to find a salon that is not " all about them"!
